Summary of Version 7 Updates...

UPDATES IN VERSION  7.14.1 (01/16/08):

Utilities / "YearEnd/StartUp" Backup...:  Added the inclusion of consignors with some amount on credit (positive or negative) to the "Start Up" Backup, even if they have no related items. 

Setup / Consignors...:  Added new options "Status flags/descriptions for unsold items" to allow changing the default description for status flags (return, donate, dispose, retain).

Setup / Inventory...: Moved options "Show flag on tags" from "Inventory" to "Consignors" page (to have descriptions and short flags on the same setup), renamed to "Show flags on label/tag reports"; 

Sales / Write-Off Invoice Print/E-Mail...:  Changed return/donate/dispose/retain status description to show as defined in setup, instead of old fixed text; 

Settlements  / Print/Export...:   Also changed for return/donate/dispose/retain custom descriptions.

Sales / Invoice / Credit Card Payment...:  Changed initialization of X-Charge configuration, if default folder is defined in setup then program will not append "LocalTran" folder to it, but will use the exact path defined in setup;

Internet / Send E-mail to Consignors...:  Expanded the "Send E-Mail Newsletter" to having one option for Consignors and one for Buyers as follows:
    - Send e-mail to all consignors (with e-mail address defined)
    - Send e-mail to consignors with 'send e-mail' enabled - this is default
    - Send to all consignors selected using the Consignors -> Find option  
   - Send e-mail to all buyers (with e-mail address defined)
    - Send e-mail to buyers with 'send e-mail' enabled - this is default
The option to send only to buyer records selected in Find will be added in a coming update.

Consignor Reports...:  Added option "Use filter already defined in Consignors -> Find" to be enabled even if Find is not activated.

Buyer Reports...:  Added option "Use filter already defined in Buyers -> Find" to be enabled by default, with message shown if find is not activated. 

Sales Orders / Add/Edit...:   Added support for discounting the buyer fee (if Disc.% is defined and if "Apply item discount (%) to buyer fees" is turned on in Setup).

 

UPDATES IN VERSION  7.14 (12/24/07):

Sales / Print Invoice...:   Added new option "Detailed invoice receipt (POS)", with printing layout and details.

Setup / Printing / Invoice format...: 
Added "Detailed invoice receipt (POS)" to the list of possible default formats for invoice printing.

Sales / Print Invoice / Detailed...POS...:   Added printing of "PAID BY" and "DUE" information in footer, fixed printing of taxes in footer for credit memos. Added printing of tax code (T2 or T1) after item price, added printing of item discount (if applied) after item details.

Setup / POS...:  Added option "X-Charge transactions folder" to allow setting the folder where X-Charge is installed.

Sales / Invoice / Credit Card Payment...:   Changed initialization of X-Charge folder, if default folder is defined in setup (e.g. X:\) then program will automatically use that path and the LocalTran subfolder on it.    If X-Charge folder is not defined in setup then configuration will be read from Windows Registry, as before.

Inventory -> Find [Consign only]...:   Added a new option allowing the search on SKU code, search is done on exact code and starting letters.  As example, "AB2527" can be searched for its exact SKU code, or just on "AB" to show all items with SKU codes starting with "AB".   Also on the Find screen, fixed the problem of not showing the labels for Date In, Date of last sale and Date Discounted.

Inventory Reports [Consign only]...:  Added support for filtering on SKU code (as in Find, exact SKU can be entered, or starting part of the code).

Invoice...:   Added the feature to now display the (Print/Preview/...options) when invoice is paid through X-Charge, after payment process is completed.  Instead of closing the invoice dialog now the invoice printing dialog will be shown (with Print/Preview/.. options).

Batch Settlements...:  Added new selection criteria "Only invoices from the following date range:" (with edit boxes for from/to dates).  

Inventory / Define Discounts [Best only]...:  Moved the option to define default discounts from Setup screen to Inventory menu.

Setup / Inventory...:  Added "Show flags on tags:" checkbox option (turned off by default), along with edit boxes to define various one-character flags to identify items that with flags for Return (default value is "R"), Donate ("D"), Dispose ("X") and Retain ("S"). Note that write-off flags are defined in the consignor record, so each item will carry the consignor's flag.

Inventory Reports  Thermal Tags...:  Added printing of item's status flag (return/donate/..., as defined in Setup) to the following reports:  on Labels page: "Detailed 2x10" and "Large 2x5"  on Thermal tags page: "Forms Plus, 2-across" and "Labels 1.25'' x 1''" (on the right side of the same line as item #).

Reports / Daily Close Out Report... :  Added the display of amounts paid on Sales Orders so that they are now included in the report and are shown in the "Payment Recap" list as "Paid on SOs (Deduct)". Note that this figure is summary of all "Deduct" columns entered on Sales Orders, and include only open Sales Orders (as once the Sales Order has been converted to an invoice, amounts paid will be shown under invoice totals).

Sales...:   Changed the "Status" column for closed sales orders to now show "Closed SO" instead of "S.Order".

Utilities / Maintenance...:   Changed the wording on the  maintenance option from "Update Consignors Status" to "Check for Consignor Updates" and from "Update Amounts for Settlement" to "Check for Inventory Updates".

 

UPDATES IN VERSION  7.13 (10/15/07):

Checks / Print...:  Added new check type "Safeguard Pre-Printed (3 per page)" for our Canadian users.  Similar layout as the "CPA006 Compliant Checks", but without printing the Consignor name and other info that is pre-printed by the check vendor.

Checks / Print...:  Enhanced the printing positions of a second check based on the "CPA006 Compliant Checks" for our Canadian users.

 

UPDATES IN VERSION  7.12.9 (10/2/07):

Inventory Batch Entry...:  Enhanced this screen so that it now can be minimized in the midst of entering data, allowing you to activate another screen or component.

Setup...:  Added new option to the screen to activate the Invoice and Inventory Batch Screen.

Batch Settlement...:  Added the ability to specify exact amounts under which no settlement will be created.  After processing, confirmation of settlements and checks will be displayed.

Setup / Consignors...:  Added the option "Minimum amount to create batch settlements/checks".  When defined, will automatically activate at Batch Settlements.

Checks / Print...:  Added the new check format "CPA006 Compliant Checks" for our Canadian users.

 

UPDATES IN VERSION  7.12.8 (8/29/07):

Invoice Receipt...:  Added printing of both sales taxes on the POS receipt printer invoice. Also added printing of tax name and % (on the same line before tax amount is printed).
 
Inventory Reports / Thermal tags / Forms Plus, bar code...:  Enhanced the layout and printing positions in order to move the barcode so that it is clear of the perforations on some printers.  Also slightly changed printing positions in other Forms Plus tags by moving the description, price etc. slightly left to the tear-off section; slightly to the top, in order to leave additional space on the border/perforations);
 
Consignor Reports / Consignor Agreements...:  Modified the space between consignor % and agreement text (loaded from .rtf file) so as to accommodate a larger area for the text.   

 

UPDATES IN VERSION  7.12.7 (8/4/07):

Weekly Web Catalog / Internet POS Service...:  Added a new optional Web Catalog service, allowing users to have a Web Catalog of their selected items from inventory to display on their free (or individual) webpage.   Entirely automatic for the user, no programming or website posting; simply select items, (with or without pictures), create special backup and e-mail. 

Buyers...:  Enhanced the browse/grid component, resizing some columns to make space for a new features.  

Buyers...:  Added column "Last Sale $", for each buyer which will lookup the invoices, and display the total amount from the last invoice (total including taxes etc.).  

Buyers...:  Added new option "Update Sales" to calculate buyer statistics (total number of invoices and sales total), starting from a selected date. By default this will calculate the total starting from January 1st of the current year, if date is cleared in this dialog then it will calculate for all sales in the database. This option replaces the earlier maintenance option "Update Buyer Purchase Statistics".

Maintenance...:  Removed old option "Update Buyer Purchase Statistics" (now replaced with the new option on Buyers screen). 

Invoice...:  Added the ability to activate the discount on any Buyer having that defined in its record.  (If existing buyer is selected for invoice in "Buyer #" and that buyer has discount defined in his record, then discount % will be applied to all items on the invoice. If the particular item also has a discount (e.g. sales promotions), then buyer discount will be applied.

Inventory Clean-Up...:  Added new option "Change date in to" (shown after items are pre-processed when "Proceed" is selected), if date is defined then new date will be set as "Date In" for all retained items. If this date is empty, then date in will remain as is. 

Inventory Clean-Up...:  Added new options to define consignor fee for retained items. There is a selection between "Keep settlement settings unchanged" (default, works the same as before), "Change to consignor %" (percent can be also set to zero  when the items are transferred to a store-account) and "Change to fixed fee $".

 

UPDATES IN VERSION 7.12.3:

Consignor Internet Inquiry...:  In this update, you now can offer your Consignors the ability to view their entire account activity direct on the Internet.  The Consignor activity includes their account balances, inventory on hand, sold items and the amount owed the Consignor "item by item".  The entire Internet updating process has been reduced to a single option.  A true bargain at $5.00 per month (paid quarterly)  Click here for complete details and a narrated demo!

Updates and Upgrade Releases...:  Added the ability for Users to now check for new updates and upgrades direct from "Help" on the top menu bar.  The new feature "Check for Updates" will automatically check and notify if your software has been updated! 

Consignor Record...:  Added a "Consignors Web Login" section to the "Address/contact" page, where you will enter the Consignor's "Username", "Password" and "Expiry".   This provides you to setup as many individual Consignors as you choose to easily their entire account activity at any time. 

Program Setup...:  Expanded and corrected the transposition of "Terms" and "Ship Via".

Inventory Reports...:  Enhanced the Thermal Tags "tear-off" portion for easier viewing.  This has been changed on all Forms Plus tags (2-across, bar code, and discounts).

Inventory Categories...:  Added a checkbox "Exempted from buyer fees", which when checked will allow those items to be excluded from buyer fees calculations at the Point Of Sale for all items within that particular category.  By default, the buyer fees are calculated and not exempted, depending on your buyer fee rules

Invoice...:  Added buyer fee calculations to support fee exemption for selected item categories.  In other words, if a particular category is exempted, then the buyer fee will not be calculated for that item. 

Invoice...:  Added a New column "Fee", which is checked if the buyer fee will be applied to the item, and clear if the buyer fee is not applied, (whether the item category has been exempted, or the "date in" range is excluded, or if the buyer fee is not defined at all).  Please note, that "Fee" column is read-only - no edits!

Sales Order / Layaway...:   Added a new column "Disc.%" to the items list, allowing for individual "line-by-line" discounts on items being sold. 

Sales Order / Layaway...:  Changed to overall style and design so as to be consistent with the invoice screen.

Sales Order / Layaway  -  Convert Sales Order to the Invoice...: made changes to carry item discounts over to invoice created from Sales Order.

Sales Order / Layaway...:  Enhanced the " Print Sales Order" to print item price with applied discount. If there is a discount, then price for that item will be marked with "*" (the same way it works in invoice printing). Also added total "Discount" amount below "Subtotal".

Inventory Reports...:  Added "date in" to all FormsPlus thermal tags (2-accrows, bar-code, discounts).  The date is now printed next to item price (and before bar-code or discount area) if "Show Date In..." option is turned on in Setup->Inventory

Consignor Reports...:  Added both the e-mail and telephone numbers to the " Export to .csv" report option.

 

UPDATES IN VERSION 7.02:

Utilities...:  Added a new backup option "Year End / Start Up Backup"  which will create a backup of just consignors having inventory on hand, along with the Buyer and Wish List records.    As part of this feature an additional backup is made of all databases should there be an emergency need to restore the data just prior to the "Year End / Start Up Backup"   The location of each backup can be user defined for saving multiple storage files. 

Consignors / Edit...: Added "Settlement Deduction Fee" with both "Amount" and "Percent" fields available for user entries to effect the Settlement total.

Settlements / New...:  Enhanced "Settlement Deduction Fee" (SDF) so that when it is defined for the selected consignor, it will be set as default value in "Deductions". If SDF is defined as a percentage, the deduction amount will be calculated from total amount for settlement, and will be auto-recalculated when sales are unselected or selected for settlements. Note that when "Balance Adjustment" has been set for the consignor, it will take precedence over the settlement deduction fee (as both can't be calculated at the same time; the balance adjustment will be cleared after it's included in the settlement). Note that settlement % is calculated as percentage of "settled amount", not as a percentage of "sales value".

Batch Settlements...:  Added checkbox "Apply settlement deduction fees" (checked by default) and "Deduct" column. Amount of the deduction is auto-calculated depending on settings in the consignor record (only if "Apply..." has been checked), using the same rules as above (when individual settlement is created).

Inventory Reports...: Added saving and restoring of report margins (Top, Bottom, Left, Right in the print/preview dialog) for all reports on "Labels" and "Bar Code" pages. Margins are saved in the .ini file (Consign.ini or Best.ini) with other configuration settings, .ini file is updated if any margins are changed from the print/preview dialog (regardless if report has been printed or not);

Item Categories / Add/Edit...: Increased number of data/detail fields to 4 in Consignment Success and to 2 in Best Consignment.

Inventory / New...: Corresponding to the Item Categories, added more detail fields on the inventory records.

Inventory Reports...: Corresponding to the additional detail lines/fields various reports will include those fields, however, due to lengths, some reports may truncate excessive details.

Buyers / Reports...: Added "List Report" and "Detailed List" report, to print list with basic buyer information (ID, name, credit, discount, dates), and list with additional address and telephone numbers (similar to reports in Consignors).

Buyers / Reports...: Added option to select between two filtering modes - "Use filter already defined in Buyers / Find" and "Use the filtering rules defined below" (default). If Find option is used to filter buyers, then the first option will be auto-selected, and filtering will be done using the rules defined in Find (otherwise, it will work as before, with filtering rules defined on Buyers Report screen).

Buyers / New/Edit...: Added "Status flag" field, with drop-down selection initialized from BuyerStatus.lst (file structure is the same as for CustStatus.lst as used in consignors screen). Support for the new status flag has also been added to Buyers / Find and Buyer Reports.

Buyers...: Fixed problem of not showing "Notice" field before refresh/change.

Invoice...: Added "Buyer Discount" information (shown in toolbar above items if selected buyer has defined discount, otherwise nothing is shown).

Inventory Reports / Bar Code...: Added new tag "Bar Code (3*10)" with same label size as in "Bar Code w/Logo", but without logo and different fields layout (bar code on the left, item # and price on the right, description and detail fields below). Also added support to save page margins for this report (if changed from the print/preview dialog, as in other reports). Note that new bar code report is printed with a different bar code component than other report (phasing out of the old component and using the same UPC-A standard).

Inventory Reports/ POS...: Added new tag "(4''x1'', fan-fold)", with custom layout, prints 6 lines * 40 characters (max), with item # and price on the left side, and item #, price, description and item details on the right (larger) side. 

Setup / Printing...: Added "Printer type (POS tags)" (on the right part, below the margins) with "Epson", "IBM" and "Zebra/Eltron" options. Printers set here will be used as default when printing inventory POS tags (which can be also changed from the POS print dialog).

Wish List...: Add/Edit...: Fixed problem with not allowing a change on the  "Category" field.

Consignors / Find...: Added the following filtering options to "Find": Open on from/to (account creation date) and Close on from/to (account closing date). 

Invoice...: Added ability to show tax description/name (as defined in Setup) for both taxes (in summary area, before the tax %).

Utilities / Compact Databases...: Added "Settlements" checkbox to compact the settlements database, fixed checkbox text for Consignors and Inventory.

Internet / E-Mail Inventory Lists...: Added new option to allow sending e-mails to all selected consignors, with the list of their consigned inventory (similar to the "E-Mail Consignor Settlements" option). E-mails will be sent in plain text format, with "Item #", "Date In", "Description", "Price" and "Qty" columns. Default e-mail subject and message header may be changed, and program will insert registered user information (store name and address) at the beginning on the message. This option is available in Consign only. 

Consignor / Reports...: Added new report "Cons. Inventory List" that will show detailed report for all consignors (with each consignor on a new page), with the list of available inventory. Consignor address will be shown in a box in upper-left of the report, to be window envelope-ready  

Consignor / Reports...: Added "Number of items" (below the "Balance range") to allow for additional filtering of consignors on the number of items on hand. This is mostly to be used with the new report "Cons. Inventory List" and to filter only consignors with inventory on hand (e.g. enter "1" as the starting range, ending range can be left as 0).

Consignors / Find...: Added "Track Date" to the find criteria.  

Inventory Reports...: Added a new Bar Code report "Bar Code w/Discounts" (to both Best and Consign), it is the same size as "Discounts, large (2*5)" report, but with the store logo and added bar-code removed.

Report dialog (Print/Preview)...: Modified edit components, for all labels/tag reports changed "Page margins" edit boxes to accept larger values, and changed margins increment to 0.05''.
